I came across this article today.

You’ll find a remarkable light bulb burning bright at a fire station in Livermore, California. It hasn’t been turned off since 1901.

The Guinness Book of World Records, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and General Electric agree the bulb, of unknown wattage, is the longest-living in history, despite two moves and a few power outages during its lifetime

Teen Arsonists Set Hollywood Hills on Fire

Two teenagers from Illinois set the Hollywood Hills on fire yesterday. The fire, which started near Burbank, came dangerously close to the famous Hollywood Sign, but luckily there were no injuries or major damage.

Two teenage males from Illinois suspected of setting the fire turned themselves in to authorities, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said at a news conference. A witness observed the teens, ages 16 and 17, starting the fire, he said.“They were old enough to know what they were doing,” the mayor said.

Racy photos of High School student e-mailed, and she’s expelled

I came across this article today.

A sophomore at St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School has been expelled after pictures of her nude, and semi-nude in school attire, surfaced last week.

The girl, a 16-year-old junior varsity cheerleading captain at the Huguenot school, took about 60 photographs of herself and e-mailed them to a student at St. Peter’s Boys’ High School in New Brighton, the sources said.
It seems that the boy, a sophomore member of St. Peter’s junior varsity basketball team, forwarded the photos to his friends, who did the same. There were reports that some of the photos made their way onto the online Web community, MySpace.com.

The world is insane.Pure madness.

Pictures of The real Shrek

Maurice Tillet (1903-1954) was a professional wrestler in the early years of the entertainment-sport. Born in France, he was highly intelligent and could speak 14 languages. He was also a keen poet and was hoping to get into the acting business.

In his twenties, he developed acromegaly, a rare disease that causes bones to grow wildly and uncontrollably. Soon his whole body was disfigured as a result. This led to much pain for Tillet as this gentle man was being called names, berated and forced to flee the place he loved so much.
